Flying Robots
Soar into the world of drone technology with our CoDrone EDU with Blockly course, perfect for young tech enthusiasts aged 10-18. This interactive, hands-on course is designed to teach kids the fundamentals of programming using Blockly while they learn to pilot and code their very own CoDrone EDU. From unboxing the drone to executing complex flight patterns, students will explore the exciting world of coding through engaging, project-based lessons.
Items Needed:
Robolink CoDrone / Controller
Computer With Internet
Open Indoor Space / Non Clutter Flight Room
Key Features:
Beginner-Friendly Programming: No prior coding experience needed! Students will learn programming concepts using Blockly, a visual drag-and-drop coding language, making it easy and fun to create their first programs.
Hands-On Learning: Each chapter is packed with interactive projects, guiding students through real-world applications of coding and robotics.
Safety First: Emphasis on flight safety ensures a responsible and safe learning environment, with thorough guidance on setting up and operating the CoDrone EDU.
Creative Challenges: Students will complete various mini-challenges, culminating in a final project where they showcase their skills in a custom drone flight routine.
Comprehensive Support: Our course includes step-by-step instructions, video tutorials from Robolink EDU, and additional resources to help students and parents every step of the way.

Introduce students to the Codrone, familiarize them with basic controls, and ensure they understand safety measures. By the end of the day, students should be able to take off, land, and perform basic maneuvers.
-
How do quad copters fly anyways?
-
Lets look at “Blockly” and understand how we can use it to program.
-
Unleash your inner drone pilot by learning and implementing basic flight commands to create an impressive mini aerial performance. By the end of this lesson, students will have designed, programmed, and executed a unique flight routine that showcases their creativity and new skills.

How do we connect the CoDrone the to computer and upload code?
-
Let’s use our imagination and put it to code!
-
Let’s now get our drone to do a new maneuver, preparing ourselves ready or the final project of the chapter.
-
Now we will smash the two code structures together (metaphorically) and see what happens!

-
In this chapter, students will learn how to use loops in programming to control the drone’s height based on sensor data. By the end of the chapter, students will have created a simple program that automatically adjusts the drone’s height using loops in Blockly.
-
Students will program the drone to turn when the front sensor detects an obstacle.
-
Mixing these two programs together we get a fun autonomous craft!
